THE DEVELOPMENT
We started production of our StrapIt with leather scraps from the furniture industry. This way, we could use leather scraps that would otherwise be destroyed – both cheaper and better in our view.
However, it wasn’t long before we had to produce so many that it actually became more expensive to use leather scraps, as each small piece could only be cut into 4-10 leather pieces. Therefore, using leather scraps became more costly, but it was still something we prioritized.
WE FOUND THE MATERIAL
As our sales grew even more, using leather scraps became increasingly unsustainable because we couldn’t guarantee the right quality and color. For that reason, we began exploring other options to find the perfect alternative to genuine leather without compromising what made StrapIt unique.
After several months of searching and numerous attempts, we found what we believe is the perfect bio-leather for StrapIt. The bio-leather contributes, just like regular leather, to increased grip and comfort when you train – and it is completely sustainable.
100% ANIMAL-FREE
Our bio-leather is 100% animal-free and produced without harmful chemicals. This means you can train with a clear conscience – your equipment is not only good for your training, it’s also good for the planet.
OEKO-TEX® CERTIFIED
All our materials are OEKO-TEX® certified and tested for harmful substances. This is a standard many manufacturers do not meet – but for us, it is a minimum requirement.
The bio-leather is another step in our journey to prove that Danish production, high quality, and sustainability can go hand in hand.
