It started with a better pair of lifting straps
The idea behind MakeIt arose because Tom could not find the combination of function, quality, and Danish production he was looking for in his own training equipment.
The solution was to develop the product himself.
The first years were spent on product development, sewing, and countless prototypes. Fit, materials, and construction were continuously adjusted until the first StrapIt lifting straps were ready for sale.
From garage production to more than 100,000 pairs sold
After the launch, StrapIt gradually began finding its way into more Danish gym bags. Production grew in line with demand, but the products continued to be cut, assembled, and sewn in Denmark.
Today, MakeIt uses both manual and automated sewing machines. Automation makes it possible to produce more items while consistently working with measurements, stitch placement, and the quality of the finished product.
A new team and a bigger ambition
In 2021, the team expanded when Mathias and Anton joined MakeIt.
Mathias and Anton helped develop the company's creative direction, images, videos, marketing, and overall e-commerce universe. MakeIt thus evolved from a single niche product into a broader brand within functional training equipment.
The development has been driven by a shared ambition to combine product development, Danish production, and a strong digital customer experience.
Danish production requires control over the details
Danish production is not necessarily the easiest or cheapest solution. It places high demands on planning, efficiency, and consistent quality.
In return, we can follow the products through the most important parts of the process ourselves:
- Receipt and inspection of materials.
- Cutting of straps and components.
- Assembly and sewing.
- Reinforcement of high-stress areas.
- Inspection of the finished product.
The raw materials come from selected international suppliers, while the products are cut, assembled, and sewn at MakeIt in Denmark.
